Bailey needs a home!

We are desperately looking to rehome a very sweet and wonderful dog from Belgrade, Serbia. Her name is Bailey and she is now about 1 year and a half years old.

Bailey has a quite a story to tell about how difficult her short life has been. She was born in Košutnjak a very beautiful park in the suburbs of Belgrade where she lived with her mother and brother as a homeless dog. After surviving a very long and cold winter outside as a puppy, Bailey was hit by a car on March 17^th and suffered back injuries which left her unable to walk. I found her in the park that morning and took her to a vet. Since then she has stayed at my apartment.

Not known to me at first, Bailey had several wonderful ladies who fed and helped take care of her, her mother, and her brother in the park. After she was injured we met together to decide what to do. We found a vet who felt she could not be helped with surgery but could be helped and maybe walk again with a lot of physical therapy.

Unfortunately I am in a situation of living in a small place and I already have one dog. I also work now fulltime and do not have the time to care for Bailey as she should be cared for. Bailey needs to live with a person who has time to do physical therapy exercises with her at least two times a day.

She also requires extra help with personal care. Bailey can hold her urine and bowels to some extent, but needs to be taken outside frequently to avoid accidents. I use baby diapers on her when I will be gone for more than a few hours because I leave her inside. She is not a big dog, only 11.5 kg.

She loves to be outside so ideally she should live with someone who has a yard/garden. She gets along with everyone-children, dogs, and cats, and is very social and playful. She has always been an exceptionally sweet and loving dog ever since I met her as a puppy in the park.

Bailey scoots around and can move quickly, almost like she is running. Sometimes she stands on her back legs for a few seconds but cannot make coordinate steps with her front legs. She is trying really hard and I believe with therapy will be able to walk again, maybe not perfectly but enough to get around and to enjoy her life.
